Alvogen is a multinational,
privately-owned pharmaceuticals company,
focused on complex generic pharmaceutical products. The company is committed to building the next-generation generics company through the strategic selection of products, partners and markets, and the utilization of an effective consolidated global supply chain. Robert Wessman is the Chairman and CEO of Alvogen and leads its global expansion. North-America is Alvogen’s largest market with approximately half of group’s sales.

With more than 200 pharmaceutical projects in development and registration, over 100 product and market launches are expected a year. The group’s product portfolio consists of a broad range of leading molecules for the treatment of conditions in the fields of oncology, cardiology, respiratory, neurology and gastroenterology. 

Alvogen is built on the strong foundation of Norwich Pharmaceuticals (NPI) in New York, a company with 125-year history and an unsurpassed regulatory track record. A clear focus on continuous improvement and a long history of delivering high-quality pharmaceuticals from world-class production facilities has enabled the company to deliver exceptional value and high quality products and services. The Norwich plant, with an annual capacity of five billion tablets and capsules, is the American manufacturing base of Alvogen.

Alvogen’s leadership team is dedicated to fostering a dynamic change-driven culture committed to meeting the needs of our customers. Our organizational structure is lean and flexible, driving quick and effective decision making and thus enabling the company to bring new generic products quickly and safely to market. At the same time, our structure empowers the organization to collaborate with customers and suppliers on finding the best possible solution every time

Country managers and business unit leaders drive continuous improvement and are responsible for business development and customer service levels across their regions. They are supported by global and regional portfolio, quality, supply chain and regulatory teams and local support services. 

The executive leadership team forms the Alvogen Management Board, and includes the Chairman & CEO, CEO America, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Global Executive of Organizational Development (COD), EVP of Sales in the CEE region, EVP of Sales in APAC, EVP of Business Development and Chief Legal Council.

Competitive Strengths

Focused high value pipeline: Alvogen focuses on difficult-to-make and high-value formulations and pursues first-to-file opportunities. Our product pipeline is filled by selections from internal R&D candidates, in-licensed products, fostering strategic partnerships and targeted portfolio acquisitions. The company has over 200 projects in development and registration, of which over 50 are for the US market. Alvogen has concluded partnership agreements with leading biosimilar companies to bring biosimilar candidates to market exclusively in selected markets.

Consolidated low cost supply chain: Alvogen leverages its NPI manufacturing facility to produce low-costgeneric and CMO products for the US market. Through a Lean Six Sigmaprocess, the company focuses on continuous improvement programs in NPI quality and customer service,

Central Supply chain and quality teams outside the U.S. manage the flow of products from all around the world to ensure high quality, low cost, fast-to-market service to meet global market demands.
Targeted sales network in high-growth markets: Alvogen has built its marketing capacity to reach over 25 countries, including some of the world’s fastest growing and higher margin markets. These include Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Korea, China, Thailand, Taiwan and North America, which contributes approximately half of Group’s revenues.
Collaboration – with strong core competence: Alvogen works collaboratively and strives to build a dependable network of partners around the

world to support manufacturing, product development, supply chains and sales. The company seeks the best capabilities available, whatever the source. Having excellent in-house talent and resources is one of its main strategic pillars, but at the same time, the company’s business model encourages outsourcing of services where feasible in order to achieve the best results.

Sales Activities

research (CRO). Third party contract manufacturing and development services are provided by the Company´s manufacturing facility in Norwich located in New York State under the brand Norwich Pharmaceuticals. Third party clinical services are provided by the Company´s research clinic in Bangalore India (NCS – Norwich Clinical Services).

In April 2010, Alvogen and NCS announced an expansion of operations in India, through the establishment of a new Clinical Research Organization (CRO). The CRO specializes in the management of

clinical trials and offers a complete range of clinical research services to Alvogen and third parties. In India, Alvogen has also announced a strategic partnership with leading manufacturers and has opened a sourcing office for raw material.

Key markets in the CEE region include Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, CIS, Serbia, Albania, and Macedonia. In Asia, Alvogen already has operations in China, Thailand and Taiwan
