Alvogen Appoints Laurentiu Scheusan as EVP of Sales in Central and Eastern Europe

Scheusan has an outstanding track record in the generic industry after holding senior executive positions with large global generic companies.

Parsippany, New Jersey, February 15, 2011 - Alvogen, the US-based pharmaceutical company, today announced that Laurentiu Scheusan has been appointed as Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe. Scheusan has an outstanding track record in the generic industry after holding senior executive positions with large global generic companies.

Scheusan comes with over 14 years’ experience in European generic industry after working as a senior manager at Actavis Group for three years and the Romanian pharmaceutical company Sindan for nine years. Scheusan graduated from the Timisoara University of Medicine, Romania, in 1993. He will lead the development of Alvogen’s product portfolio and sales activities in the region to support the group´s growth and expansion.

“Laurentiu has an outstanding leadership background in the generic industry. He brings valuable experience to our expansion plans into new markets in Eastern Europe and will play a critical role in the success of our organization,” said Robert Wessman, Executive Chairman of Alvogen.

Alvogen´s Eastern European platform includes; Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia and the company is constantly looking to expand its presence in the region. The company has identified over 20 emerging markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America as its priorities for entry. Through a highly refined selection process, Alvogen targets complex generic products that have the potential for reduced market competition.
