Alvogen appoints new business leaders in Poland and Croatia

Tomasz Czekala and Jerko Jaksic have been appointed to serve as key business leaders in Poland and Croatia.

Parsippany, New Jersey, August 18, 2011 - Alvogen, the US-based generic pharmaceuticals company, today announced that it has appointed Tomasz Czekala and Jerko Jaksic to serve as key business leaders in Poland and Croatia, respectively. These appointments will further strengthen Alvogen’s ambitious growth plans in the region. Currently, Alvogen has over 160 products in development and registration for markets in Central and Eastern Europe.

Tomasz Czekala will lead Alvogen’s activities in Poland as the new country manager. Czekala brings 20 years’ experience in the Polish pharmaceutical market, after working as Sales & Marketing Manager for the local subsidiary of EBEWE Pharma and most recently for six years as a country manager at the same company. He graduated from Gdansk University in Health Care Systems Management and has a medical degree from the Gdansk Medical Academy.

Jerko Jaksic will lead Alvogen’s activities in Croatia as the new country manager. Before joining Alvogen, Jaksic spent three years with Sandoz as Sales & Marketing Manager. Previously, he worked for the Croatian generic pharmaceuticals company Pliva, where he held various positions, including Medical Representative and Portfolio Unit Manager. He is a pharmacist from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb and has an MBA in Business Administration from the Erasmus School of Management, Rotterdam, Netherlands.
